The desk has two feet spaced apart with a body fixed between them having a front part acting as a writing surface and extending for the full length, and a rear one with a set of pigeon-holes with a multipurpose plate. This can be secured in several positions and when closed shuts the pigeonholes off with its top part. The pigeonholes are open at the back, and the plate can be locked against their rear face to close them off partially, or in an inclined position on top of them to support books of reference. Alternatively there can be two sets of pigeonholes, one for wallets and briefcases and with a first multipurpose plate lockable against its rear, and the other for stationery with a second inclined lockable plate.
