The hub (10) has radial (11) and axial (12) projections for positioning a braking disc (14). There is an initial radial clearance between the hub and disc and this clearance has a deformable section enabling the contraction of the disc on to the seat. The deformable section is one which deforms permanently. It can consist of an annular groove in either the disc or the hub and can also be elastically deformable. An alternative is the use of a ring to form the deforming part and housed in the clearance. The ring has a frusto-conical section which is deformed into a cylindrical section.
