A mounting frame enables the pivotted arm assembly of a front loading attachment to be secured on a tractor. A fabricated 'U' shaped frame (2) is mounted on the tractor frame and carries two pivotted mounting brackets (15) at the rear end. The arms of the front loader (16), have substantial box sections at the rear end and carry a boss (5) through which a dowel passes. A retaining mechanism located around the pivot point prevents the dowel from axial movement during operation. A trunnion mounted double acting hydraulic cylinder (25) operating on the support arms provides activation for the loading shovel that is mounted on the front brackets. A tripod (30) may be attached to support the loading arms while the loading shovel is located.
