The wires (10) each have at different positions at least one coupling point (13) for an operating magnet whereby the magnets are displaced in at least one plane along the wires. More specifically the magnets are arranged above one another in rows inclined to the longitudinal axes of the wires and each wire has two coupling points on one side. Different types of wire are provided in relation to the position of the coupling points such that five types are employed with each two coupling positions and each ten coupling points are associated with a row of magnets. The wires have a flat cross-section and are guided in sets in grooves.
