摘要
Both the upper parts and the roots of the shrub (1) are pruned and the roots forced into a mound of well-moistened mixture of compost and peat which has been placed upon a piece of jute sacking (5). The corners of the sacking are then raised and the assembly secured by a vertical tie passing under a stick beneath the sacking. A horizontal tie is then applied. Better results are obtained by including grass seed in the mixture. Plants thus packed can be kept for several months or from one year to another, placed closely together on turf into which their roots can penetrate. When required for transplanting any roots emerging from the sacking are cut-off and the whole package is then planted with the soil well firmed around the jute, and then watered.
