The system is for the manufacture of vessels containing liquids under pressure, particularly portable liquefied gas bottles. A recessed base (4) with a cylindrical skirt (5) extending outwards is fitted in the mouth of a bell-shaped main body (1), the external diameter of the base being the same as the internal diameter of the body. The two are then welded together. An internal bead (3) can be formed in the main body close to the mouth, acting as a support for the base during the welding operation.
