Spraying method is carried out by placing a trough contg. the prods. to be sprinkled beneath a sprinkling cover, applying the cover sealingly over the trough, and injecting a given quantity of sprinkling material into the cover by means of a distributor. Press. is generated within the cover to create turbulence which allows the sprinkling material to be deposited on the prods. The press. is then modified so that undeposited material remains in suspension within the cover. The cover is finally raised to allow removal of the trough and positioning of another trough. The cover may be supplied with the material while the material is being deposited. A fan may be used to regulate the different pressures within the cover as a function of density of the material and quantity of material to be deposited.
