Evacuated film pack sealed to supported deep walled trays - for good seal quality and food pack shelf life

Packing perishable materials in an evacuated space between a supporting dish and a flexible film, by supporting the dish on an ancillary card which allows the vacuum to be maintained below the rim of the dish while the fitted film is sealed to the borders of the dish. The dishes are thermoformed from polyethylene with sidewalls rising to =1/3 of the depth of the pack. The cover film is sealed to the outer face of the dish walls prior to disengaging the vacuum and completing a secondary seal to the supporting card.
