The thermal exchange process operates between two currents, separated by exchange material. To raise the cooling effect of one medium, the other one is moisturised before entering the heat exchanger, typically by spray nozzles. The quantity of moisture sprayed is greater than that which the medium can absorb in the form of vapour. The heat exchanger plates can be of silicate material, and the sprayer system can have a distribution ramp with a valve regulated by a control system. Glass plates in the heat exchanger can have alternating marginal joints forming the passages for the media, and of elastic adhesive and sealing material, preferably a silicon-based synthetic glue.
