The dental extraction instrument is subjected to high-frequency mechanical vibration of small amplitude directed at right angles to the tooth so as to break the alveolar-dental ligament. The tooth is then subjected to light vertical traction. The vibration can be symmetrical and ultrasonic, and the high-frequency signal can be produced by an electrical unit (2) and transmitted to an electromechanical transducer (4) fixed to the instrument (1). The electrical unit can be an alternating-current generator whose frequency is that of the desired mechanical vibration.
