The machine for fitting and removal of tyre with pre-inflated partioned tubes has a rectangular gantry (1). The gantry carries a vertical shaft (2) which is threaded at the end. Two large nuts with handles (13a, b) are mounted onto the shaft on each side of a horizontal brace (12). Two lever arms (6) with end shoes (62) pivot centrally about the brace (9) and their top ends connect to two more arms (7) pivoting on a lockable sliding sleeve (8) on the shaft. By winding round the nuts the shoes are made to expand or contract. A hydraulic ram (14) is fixed to the floor and is used to support and extract the wheel (14).
