Dispenser for surgical ligature - has lateral extension to vessel with boss parallel to ligature bobbin axis and sealed by elastic plug

The dispenser is for a flat bobbin carrying a surgical ligature. It comprises a flat vessel containing an antiseptic liquid in which the bobbin rotates, the ligature emerging via the opening in an elastic plug. The vessel has a lateral extension (3) with a boss (4) whose axis is parallel to that of the bobbin (5). The height of this boss is the same as that of the vessel, and its end is sealed by the elastic plug (8). There may be a suspension eye (11) on the opposite side of the boss to the bobbin. The plug can have internal and external skirts fitting over the boss wall and glued to it.
