Vertical cutter bar for maize or rape harvester - has braced inclined support arm extending ahead of pickup reel and crank drive from shaft above table
The blade head is held in position at the bottom and top by guides. The blade consists of separate triangular blades riveted onto a bar. Guide-fingers are fixed onto the cutter bar between the blades. The sides of the bar are guided by wear-plates, and guide-pieces. The cutter-bar rests on a base in which are fixture holes. The bar is held in position by a main bar rigidly fixed to the top of the cutter bar, and by slanting braces. The bar and the braces have feet for fixing onto the existing machine chassis. A shield covers the whole of the cutter bar when the harvester is not operating, and is held on the bar by sprung hooks inserted through locking studs.
