Gas burner with inner and outer chambers - uses premixed gas and air fed under pressure by small jets giving anticlockwise swirl into combustion chamber
A gas burner consists of an inner cylindrical combustion chamber (12) surrounded by an outer annular chamber (11). Gas and air are premixed and fed under a pressure of typically 2 bars through the inlet (20), into the chamber (11). Jets are located between the inner and outer chambers (21, 22, 25, 26) which feed the gas in an anticlockwise swirl. Access for fitting the jets is provided by plugs (22, 25). A flame failure detector and ignitor can be fitted through the opening (18). A flange (16) with drillings (17) is provided to fix the burner to the furnace wall. The jet size is kept small to eliminate the risk of blow-back.
