The culinary cutting board (P) is designed to collect fruit juices etc. resulting from cutting operations. The board includes drainage channels (2) in the top surface and leading to a detachable juice collecting tray (3). The tray may be recessed below the top surface of the board and let into a cut-out in the board edge. The tray may have horizontal externally projecting lip flanges which run in grooves cut in the edges of the board cut out. The trailing flange may be extended to form a handling flap. A spring catch may be provided to hold the collecting tray in place, and may comprise an inclined cantilever blade spring.
