The adjustable two-handled wrench is for use on square-headed rotary hand tools e.g. a thread cutter. The approx. square jaw-opening (10) of the wrench is formed by four quadrangular bits (6 to 8). The bits slide relative to one another to vary the size. of the opening (10) and each includes at least one right-angled corner. The slides subtending the right-angle align parallel to the diagonals of the jaw opening (10). The bit details obviate acute angles liable to fracture. The wrench has diametrically opposed handles (2, 3) emanating from an internally square (4) housing (1) contg. the bits (6 to 8). The bits are arranged whereby displacement of a master bit (6) along the corresponding inner housing wall causes the other bits to slide. In this manner the jaw opening (10) is increased or reduced in size.
