Spectro-chemical investigations appts. is esp. for laser micro-spectral analysis. It gives high excitation for light emission from vapour, and the most uniform possible excitation of a large region of the vapour. The excitation of the vapourised target material is effected by an arrangement for producing at least two spatially separate partial light bundles from the laster output and one or more auxiliary targets in the region of the target. The target is in the beam path and rear the focus of the first bundle of light. Each auxiliary target is similarly positioned w.r.t. other light beams and is associated with a surface of the target.
