The device enables spectacles to be worn for sports and to be perfectly sealed. Without the device, the transparent interior of the lenses, will cloud over. A double wall (2, 3) is used on the part of the transparent surface of the lenses reserved for vision, this being surrounded by a transparent part of single thickness. One or more absorbent materials (4) is placed inside the spectacles, e.g. in the form of chemical resistive absorbers inside muslin 'cushions'. This allows air to circulate inside the spectacles and the chemical product.
