The solar heating system uses prefabricated panels (1) made of suitable insulating and weather resistant materials which can form part of the outer structure of the building itself. Each panel has a series of heat collectors (2) mounted on, or incorporated in it. The collector has a transparent cover plate (3) over a hollow collector plate (2) with a layer (10) of insulation underneath, with distributor tubes (5) from the hollow plate communicating with main collector tubes (9) embeded lower down. These tubes (9) terminate in heating and/or cooling units inside the building. The transparent cover plate (3) can be flush with the panel (1), and the remainder of the collector housed in a recess below the surface.
