Retractable launching ramp for airports, - forms blast screen and reduces pollution and noise with internal face of shutter having saw teeth

The ramp is designed to augment the power of aeroplane jet engines and diminish atmospheric pollution and noise at, for example, airports. The ramp consists of a shutter (1), constructed from an alloy with a high termal and mechanical resistance, which pivots about an axle (3) enclosed in the runway, provided with two side skirts (2) which prevent the lateral dissipation of the jet stream. The internal face of the shutter comprises chicanes or sawteeth to direct and retard the speed of the entry of the exhaust gases into a recovery duct, situated under the runway which is connected to an anti-pollution chamber, for both chemicals and noise. The ramp can be operated mechanically, electrically or electronically.
