A food holder for rabbits, comprises a trough (1) which is simply placed in the animal's cage but prevented from being overturned by the provision on the trough base (8) of a plate (14). This extends in front of the trough so that the weight of the animal on the plate prevents it from overturning the food holder. The trough (1) is formed by the bottom of a casing (2) and is accessible through an opening (4e. The rear of the trough is supplied by hopper (6) closed by a removable cover (9) whose rim (13) is higher than the reach of a rabbit. The opening (4) is divided by partitions (12) spaced to allow the passage of the head of a young, but not of an adult, rabbit. Such spacing may be 55mm.
