The framework is intended to be assembled rapidly be cheap and also robust. It consists of metal ridge beams (2) connected to metal uprights (1) by gusset plates (14) the ridge beams being, made from two U-sections (81, 82) placed back to back. Wooden roof purlins (10) are fixed onto the ridge beam by triangular plates (9) sandwiched between the ridge beams and the purlins support the rafters (11) for the roof covering. Overhanging roofs with or without weather boards can be achieved by extending the ridge beams and rafters over the uprights and reinforcing with an additional gusset plate and a strut.
