A device for telephone or intercommunications equipment is used to make a private conversation with another person. The device comprises a plastic material face mask (1) which fits over and around the mouth of a person. The mask (1) has a microphone (4) connected by a cable (5) to a jack plug connector (6) and an amplifier. The mask (1) also has ear-pieces (7, 8) and a strap (3) and a knob (9) is used to control the volume of sound being received. The device can also be used with a magnetic tape recorder to record private messages.
