Inking zone helix movement mechanism - has reciprocating driving member coupled to helix shafts and contacting limit switches at ends of stroke (SW 23.1.78)
Inking zone helix movement mechanism - has reciprocating driving member coupled to helix shafts and contacting limit switches at ends of stroke (SW 23.1.78)
The mechanism gives definite movement of a set of helices in the inking zone of a printing press, having a driving member to which the various helices can be coupled as desired. The member performs a reciprocating movement, being typically a sliding bar which can be coupled to the helix shafts, and of variable speed. The number of its movements can serve as a measurement of the amount of helix movement, the connections made for each direction of movement can be effected by limit switches in the path of the driving member. The design combines simplicity with low power consumption and high travel speed.
