The childs safety seat has a profiled, plastic shell (1) which has extended mouldings (5) at the bottom rear ends. This enables the shell to sit firmly on a car seat, with moulded mounting points (30) for the bottom securing straps. The child is secured by two loops (10) on either side of the shell, and passing through slots in the top of the shell. With an arrow of slots the straps can be adjusted to fit different sizes of children. A crutch strap (18) prevents the child from sliding out of the shell. The upper end of the shell is fastened to the vehicle by two adjustable straps. The seat is clipped into the vehicle for rapid fastening and removal and provides the maximum of support.
