A protective device for agricultural soil working machines and intended to be placed in front of discs (2) comprises a curved shield (1) surrounding part of the circumference of the discs and terminating near the ground. The shield has a central spine (3) which splits the piles of earth or separates the stones. The shield is provided with a point (5) or tooth or share to protect the lower part of the shield or to create a furrow to facilitate the work of the discs. The shield is fixed by welding or bolts (9) on a member (8) fixed to the support of the disc shafts. Shear bolts or overload springs may be used. The shield or the spine may comprises two removable pieces.
