A rotatable pipe coupling consists of a male element (6) and a female element (10). The female element has a parallel bore (12) with a circumferential groove near its outer end. The male element has a groove for a sealing ring (18) which forms a seal with the bore (12) of the female element. The male element has a second circumferential groove (14) which aligns with the groove (15) of the female element when the coupling is assembled. A split ring (15) is inserted through a hole (17) in the side of female element into the grooves and keeps the two parts of the coupling together but permits relative rotation between the parts.
