Prostadienoic esters of formula (I) are new: (where R1 is H, an equiv. of alkali(ne earth) metal, Mg, or an amine-contg. organic base or 1-4C alkyl; R2 is 1-4C alkyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl, or phenyl, substd. by a gp. U; U is free or salified carboxylic acid, free or salified sulphonic acid, or a gp. -(CH2)nOA; n = 0 or 1; A is H, 2-4C acyl, or a gp. which is easily removed by hydrolysis; with the proviso that U is not sulphonic acid when R2 is cycloalkyl. (I) are bronchospasmolytics, hypotensives, and smooth muscle contracting agents.
