The car parking system has several levels between which a transfer cage may be raised and lowered. The cage includes transverse rails and has a frame with rollers which engage guide tracks in the central shaft of the levels. The upper part of the frame includes a friction roller, the cage being inclinable to receive or discharge a vehicle. The cage is supported by a cable which passes over a pulley at the top of the shaft, the pulley drive being interrupted by switches at the different levels of the system.
