Graphics transmission system using telex principles - uses reference grid to establish points on image and telex code is formed to represent image points

The method of image transmission consists of several stages. First a plan is prepared of the image to be transmitted. Associated with this plan is a reference grid. This grid is pref. has its number of columns equal to the max. number of characters that it is possible to inscribe on a line of telex. Each of the telex typographic characters is associated with a prominent part of the surface of the image plan. The typographic characters are coded according to a telex formula. The code identifying the characters with respect to their position on the plan. The positions are reference by the relative positions of the characters with respect to the grid. The corresp. message is transmitted by means of a first transmission telex. The image (1) is received from the output of a second receiving telex system.
