Tipping container for fork lift truck - has forward tipping motion actuated by hydraulic jacks through rack and pinion gearing

The tipping container for fitting to a fork lift truck is mounted on a frame (1) with a U shaped base (4) of box section tube (7) which fits over the blades of the fork (2). The base carries two bearing blocks (5) carrying flanged bushes (8) with radial slots (11). These bushes carry toothed pinions which mesh with racks attached to the piston rods of the hydraulic jacks (19). The containers are in the form of open rectangular boxes with flat ribs projecting from opposite ends. These ribs fit into the slots (11) of the bushes (8). When the bushes are rotated by the operation of the jacks the container is inverted. The bearing blocks are so constructed that the container cannot fall out of the slots when inverted.
