Prodn. of sliding contact set for electric switches - casts several wires into insulating blocks, severs wires between blocks and bends wire ends into contacts

The following steps are taken in the production of the sliding contact set; a number of wires is embedded in several insulating blocks (1) by injection moulding. The wires are cut off between the blocks and the wire ends are bent to form contacts (15-23). The opposite ends of the wires are preferably bent to form connecting terminals. The cutting and bending of the wires may be carried out in a single working step. Alternately contact strips may be stamped from flat sheet metal. The strips are bent to form contacts, and several such strips are connected mechanically and electrically to a circuit board. On application to a switch, one or several contact sets are mounted on a circuit board, while the individual contacts slide over a rotary or shiftable mask. Thus they sweep a metal plate, common to all contacts, through the mask apertures.
