The toy tower crane has a wheeled base supporting the tower and boom, the latter being rotatable. A trolley travels along the boom and has a lifting hook which can be raised or lowered. Operations are controlled by a battery powered unit connected by a wire to the drive mechanism inside the trolley. A three-position selector lever determines which operation is activated, meshing one of three gear trains with the electric motor. In a fourth position of the lever, the drive is declutched from the motor and engages a crank drive to permit manual operation of the crane.
