Quick release for parachute harness - has guard plates on straps to form catches accommodating clasps and connector pieces

The parachute harness quick-release buckle comprises a catch and female clasp, the harness straps being parallel for part of their length with detachable belts sliding freely in rings fixed to the ends of the parachute hangers. On each of the straps (5) is a guard plate (17) forming the catch, and accommodating a connector piece (14) on the end of the belt (12) running parallel to the strap. The clasp (15) works both with the guard and the connector piece, so as to prevent the latter moving sideways in the guard. A main elastic locking member (20) holds the clasp in engagement with guard and piece, and a secondary locking member (31) is also provided, fixed to the guard plate.
