The system is intended for reducing the fuel consumption of a motor vehicle engine and comprises one or more of the following steps. Reducing the exhaust gas flow resistance by increasing the exhaust valve using an extractor-type exhaust manifold and exhaust line, a through-flow silencer, and appropriate tail pipe. Improving ignition by using an electronic system, a higher-voltage coil, advancing ignition, and increasing the electrode gap at the sparking plugs. Improving fuel supply by replacing the mechanical fuel pump by a low-pressure electrically driven pump thus preventing excess fuel supply.
