Load-bearing prosthesis e.g. shin bone or forearm, is a composite structure of rigid, elongated, elements forming a frame. The elements partly or entirely enclose a hollow space and are made of FRP. Pref. the fibres are carbon-, glass- or polyester fibres, and the plastics matrix is an epoxy resin.
