The vertical unit for suspending a flase ceiling consists of a U shaped hinged frame open at the top. Mounted inside the frame is a panel section and at least one brace at the top. The frame has two indentations in the vertical sides of the U so that it can be folded and the bottom and the sides of the panel section inserted. The frame has two bolts in for the brace to go through. The panel section comprises two sheets back to back between which is the brace. The vertical unit is fixed to a T-shaped support, with the brace at each end having a hook fitting into a vertical slot in the middle of the T shaped section. The frame has a system of horizontal, outward-pointing feet resting on the side of the T shaped section.
