Temperature indicator composition. /P P It contains: a. an inert optically active compound; and B. a nematic liquid crystal, the proportion of a being that causing selective scattering of light of the visible spectrum at temperatures below the liquid transition point of the composition and cessation of light scattering when the composition is heated above its liquid transition point. /P P Devices containing such compositions can be used as medical thermometers.
