In a first embodiment Fig. 1, the cable comprises a conductor arrangement formed by a tube 3 and a layer of trapezoidal section wires 4, a smoothing layer 6, oil paper insulation 5, electrical sheilding 7, an aluminium corrugated tube 8, plastics material 9 and PVC sheeting 10. In a second embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown) the conductor arrangement is formed by three inner layers of wires, a tube, and one outer layer of wires. The conductors may be of aluminium or copper. Channels 12 in the first embodiment, and spaces between the inner wires in the second are used to locate leaks in the coolant tube by detecting the time at which leakage occurs on passing a scraper down said coolant tube.
