1524544 Halting agricultural machines when defects occur MASCIHINENFABRIK FAHR AG GOTTMADINGEN 16 Oct 1975 [5 Dec 1974 5 June 1975] 42402/75 Heading A1F A defect in the operation of a combine harvester causes closing (Fig. 1) or opening (Fig. 3) of one of a set of earthed switches 10 so as to halt operation of the harvester. In Fig. 1, an operating defect closes one of the earthed switches 10 so energising a warning lamp 11 and a relay 13 which actuates a warning horn 14 and a solenoid 9. Pressure fluid is thus supplied via two-way valve 8 to a ram 5 which turns the lever 7, 2 so as to halt a variable pump 4 supplying fluid for operating the harvester. A time delay may be provided by a pressure regulator 15. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the ram 5 is replaced by a solenoid, and the solenoid 9 is replaced by a delayed-action relay. In Fig. 3, (not shown) the switches 10 are normally closed and each lamp is associated with a relay which is held open by the flow of current through its switch 10. When the relay is de-energised, further relays are actuated to sound the horn and halt the hydraulic pump.
