1527689 Steam cooking apparatus D JOVANOVIC 20 July 1977 [21 July 1976] 30379/77 Heading A4D [Also in Division A5] A steam sterilizer or cooker comprises an openended cylindrical casing 2 having a peripheral seal 4 around each end, and a displaceable trolley 14 for conveying articles to be cooked or sterilized in and out of said casing, said trolley comprising longitudinally extending bars connecting together first and second closure discs 22 disposed outside the casing and a third closure disc 20 disposed within the casing such that when said third closure disc is in contact with the inner part of one of said peripheral seals, one of said discs 22 is in contact with the outer part of the other of said seals, thereby closing the casing. As shown in Fig. 2, each peripheral seal 4 has two projecting lips 6 and 7 on the inside and outside respectively defining contact zones of different diameters D and d. The two bottom bars of the trolley are connected by a removable cradle 24 which supports a container 25. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), only one end closure disc 22 is provided.
