1531426 Prefabricated house units ELLIOTTS OF PETERBOROUGH Ltd 17 Aug 1976 [22 Aug 1975] 34933/75 Heading E1A A prefabricated house is formed on conventional footings 11, surrounding a flat concrete base projecting above the level of the footings by placing prefabricated house units 15, 16 thereon and securing them adjacent each other by means of lugs or fish plates 14 projecting from the base. The partition walls of the units project downwardly below the outer walls of the units and engage in grooves 13 in the base. Window and door openings are provided in outer and partition walls and an exterior cladding of bricks or other material surrounds the adjacent house units and through which the window and door frames in the outer walls of the units project. Service conduits may be provided between the floor 56 of an upper unit and the ceiling 57 of a lower unit. The units may be of timber frame construction infilled with insulating quilts and clad with plasterboard or hardboard sheets. The exterior finishing over the assembled units may be of bricks, concrete slabs or building boards or may be similar construction to the units with the outer cladding sheet of plywood. Plastics may be formed in situ between the units and the exterior cladding.
