METHOD OF APPLYING DAM RUBBER OR DAM RUBBER AND SEALING MATERIAL TO ADHEREND AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:A dam rubber is set in the groove of the mold so that the surface to be coated with the ahesive fronts outward and then transferred to the surface of the adherend by pressing, whereby dam rubber can be automatically applied to the adherend in high efficiency and shaped articles with high accuracy are given. CONSTITUTION:The bottom half of the mold 12 ascends and presses the upper half 11 so that a groove space with V-shaped cross section is formed by upper packing 30 and bottom packing 31 and the surrounding is completely tight sealed by them, both of packings 30 and 31. In Figure (b), the sealing material is filled in the groove, in Figure (c), the bottom half 12 descends. The sealing material is held in bottom half due to the form of the groove and the difference of the surface. In (d), adherend 3 which is held by a sucker 19 is pressed with press ring 18 and elastomer 18' and in (e), the adherend 3 is pushed up with pad for releasing 21 and elastomer 21' and the sealant 1 rises up along with adherend 3.
