PURPOSE:To constantly control the tension of a strip even when there happens any disturbance, by particularly responding to the disturbance of the tension of the strip rapidly, in dancer-roll control for stabilizing the tension of the strip. CONSTITUTION:Bridle rolls 2, direct current motors 8 for controlling the speed of the rolls and a power source device 9 are mounted to locations, which stabilize the tension of a strip 1 charged toward a furnace 7, and a dancer-roll 3, a counter weight 4 for correcting a tare portion of the roll and a linear synchro 6 for detecting a location of the roll 3 are installed to the going-out side of the rolls 2. The tension of the strip is detected by means of a tension meter 5, the output and the set signal 12 are compared by means of an operational amplifier 10 and the results of the computation are transmitted to a power source device 24 to control a direct current motor 23. The speed change portions of the bridle rolls are grasped, and the portions are sent to said amplifier 10 as the compensation 25 of acceleration and deceleration.
