PURPOSE:The titled controller which can carry out rolling work at low rolling load without necessity of wrapping the sheet around the roll, by arranging the different speed rolling mill in the first and (n-1)th stand of the equal speed rolling mill line. CONSTITUTION:The rolled material 3, being uncoiled from the uncoiler 1, is sent to the different speed mill Mp of the first stand S1, and following second to (n-2)th stands S2-Sn-2, and the different speed mill Mp of the (n-1)the stand Sn-1, and the n-th stand Sn, successively; the material 3 is rolled by upper and lower work rolls 4, 5, and 6, 7; after that, the material 3 is coiled into the recoiler 2. Hereupon, the signal is sent from the thickness meter 15 on the outlet side of the first stand S1 to the circumferential speed ratio controller 14; hereby, the circumferential speed ratio between upper and lower work rolls 4, 5, is arbitrarily adjusted for controlling the sheet thickness; at the same time, the tension between the first stand S1 and the second stand S2 is obtained by the tension limiting controller 10; and this tension detecting signal is sent to the screw down device 11 as feedback; hereby, the tension control is carried out.
