PURPOSE:To take out noncondensing gas generated in pipes without a specific power source by introducing a working medium into a tank and opening the upper end of the tank for making use of pressure differences given by thermal differences among these heat pipes. CONSTITUTION:The main body 1 of a heat excahnger is separated into a lower heat exchanging chamber 3 and an upper heat exchanging chamber 4 by a partition wall 2, and a heating and a heated fluid are running through these two heat exchanging chambers as arrows 9 and 10 show. Heat pipes 11A-11G are arranged at a right angle to the directions of these running fluids. These pipes are provided with working-medium supplying heads 12A-12G and noncondensing gas collecting headers 13A-13G respectively to be connected with a tank 17 through valves 14A-14G. The valve 14G of a lower gas pressure is opened, and noncondensing gas is discharged into the tank 17. When valves 14F-14A are successively opened, noncondensing gases are discharged into the air through an auxiliary tank 21 and a nonreturn valve 24.
