PURPOSE:To carry out the buld-up repairing of high quality with corrosion resisting and wear resisting properties in a short time under the set-up condition, by building up the first layer with the mild steel according to the gas shielded arc swinging and climbing automatic welding system using the pulsed power source, and by building up the second and later layers with the austenitic stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:The gas shielded arc swinging and climbing automatic welding system is employed by reason as follows; the plane to be built up is vertical and this system is the arc swinging type whose heat input is as large as possible to supply so sufficient heat to the welding of a large capacity that the effect almost similar to the preheating and after-heating is given to the build-up zone. For the material of build up welding of the first layer, the mild steel especially the low carbon steel with carbon equivalent under 0.09% is employed. For the building up material of the second and later layers, the austenitic stainless steel for improving the corrosion resisting, wear resisting and impact resisting properties is employed. The residual in the built up layer distributes in a sectional area about 1/100 of the parent metal, stress and its influence is considered a little.
