PURPOSE:To omit units and works needed for a forced lubrication system for the simplification of the construction by covering a thrust bearing with an annular cover which is constructed to pack fully low viscosity lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A thrust bearing 4 covered by an annular cover 14 is fitted in an impeller hub 2 through the bottom surface 14C of the annular cover 14 and a part of outer diametral side wall 14A, and fixed to a moving vane shaft 3A through a sleeve 5 on the reversing surface side of a inner ring 4C. While the lubricating oil within the annular cover 14 is subjected to centrifugal force to raise oil pressure during the running of the axial fan, oil leakage to the exterior is prevented by the bottom surface 14C of the annular cover 14. Also, while the running of the bearing is accompanied by temperature rise to expand the lubricating oil and the stoppage of the bearing contracts same, the lubricating oil leaks little only with small amount of air coming in and of the cover.
