Procedure to produce the new antibacterial agents bm123gamma1 CIS and CIS - bm123gamma2

A novel series of potent antibacterial agents designated alkylated-cis-BM123?1 and alkylatedcis-MB123?2 produced by a novel photolytic process whereby alkylated-trans-BM123?1 and alkylated-trans-BM123?2 are transformed to their corresponding cis-isomers. The new antibacterial agents are active against a variety of microorganisms and thus are useful in inhibiting the growth of such bacteria wherever they may be found.
