New derivatives of 2,6-diphenyl- 3,7-dioxabicyclo-[3,3,0]-octane-4,8- dione substituted on the phenyl rings have been found to have an anti-tumor, catechol-0-methyltransferase inhibitory and cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase inhibitory activity. The derivatives are prepared by subjecting cinnamic acid derivatives to an oxidative coupling reaction in the presence of an oxidizing agent.
